Allen’s Bio

Allen Neuenschwander, nationally recognized retirement coach and financial advisor, began his training more than 39 years ago with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama and an MBA in Finance from the University of Tennessee.

After graduation, Allen served in US Army’s Finance Corps during the Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of First Lieutenant and was honorably discharged in 1971.

Resuming a career in public accounting, Allen gained the necessary experience and passed the rigorous exam to become a CPA. Then, after four years with a multi-national public accounting firm, he moved on to provide his services to companies in the building materials, oil & gas and construction industries. While establishing his own business, Allen’s life was changed forever.

Allen’s father and daughter were killed simultaneously in a hit and run accident caused by a drunk driver. While still dealing with his own pain from the incredible loss, it fell on Allen as the eldest son to guide his mother through a legal and financial maze that (because of some bad financial advice given to his father) could have left her with insufficient assets, no life insurance and 3 kids still at home. In the months that followed Allen was able to lead his family through this painful maze to a place of financial stability.

This experience molded into Allen a singular aim to help others avoid, or when necessary, cope with financial crises in their lives. “It’s my passion and life’s work to help as many people as possible avoid the nightmare scenario my mother went through and narrowly escaped,” Allen says.

And it’s that life’s work he’s been committed to ever since. It’s that passion that sent Allen on to become a Certified Financial Planner®. It also inspired him to teach financial and retirement planning courses for several Houston area colleges and universities and for employee groups at a number of Fortune 100 companies. Allen has also served on the board of directors of the Financial Planning Association of Houston and the investment committee of the Houston chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs.

Still, Allen’s thriving group practice remains his main focus, and through it he has helped hundred of clients reduce their taxes, protect and grow their assets, and avoid major mistakes that far too many retirees and pre-retirees make (such as taking excessive risks and earning too little with their investments).

Allen’s firm believes in long-term, full service relationships, pro-actively providing his clients with solutions and suggestions, not simply a “transactional” model in which you only hear from your advisor when there is a new product for sale. As a testament to this philosophy, many of Allen’s clients have trusted him to be their financial guide for 10, 12, even 15 years.

Currently, Allen’s financial planning and investment management team is accepting a limited number of new clients. You may apply for a free introductory consultation by calling 281-872-1515.

Allen and his wife of 40 years Stephanie reside in The Woodlands, Texas. They have three sons, one daughter-in-law and a three year old granddaughter.
